Mullein is most famous for its affinity for the respiratory system. It is classified as a demulcent (soothing) and an expectorant (helps clear mucus).

Mullein is often used to help "calm the lungs." It contains mucilage, which coats irritated membranes, and saponins, which help break up stubborn phlegm. It is commonly used for:

Dry, hacking coughs.

Bronchitis and chest congestion.

Soothing the throat after smoke exposure

Pour warm to hot water over 1-2 teaspoon of the herb and strain for an amazing infusion.
