• Dandelion Leaf: contains vitamins A,B,C,D, Iron, Potassium, Zinc a source of a variety of nutrients and root contain Vitamins (like A,C, K and B-vitamins) as well as minerals (including magnesium, zinc, potassium, iron, calcium and choline). The various parts of the plant have a long history of use as an herbal remedy, and every documented population in areas where it grows naturally has used it medicinally. Due to its high levels of various nutrients and potential ability to help support the body’s natural detoxification systems, dandelion is often used by those with hormone imbalance, urinary infection and recurrent mastitis. Preliminary animal studies suggest that dandelion may help normalize blood sugar levels and lower total cholesterol and triglycerides while raising HDL (good) cholesterol in diabetic mice. Researchers need to see if dandelion will work in people. A few animal studies also suggest that dandelion might help fight inflammation.

• Plantain Leaf: contains flavonoids, ursolic acid, anti-toxic, anti-bacteria. Studies have shown that plantain has anti-inflammatory effects, and it is also rich in tannin (which helps draw tissues together to stop bleeding) and allantoin (a compound that promotes healing of injured skin cells). Further studies have indicated that plantain may also reduce blood pressure, and that the seeds of the plant may reduce blood cholesterol levels. Plantain seeds were also widely used as a natural laxative, given their high source of fiber. Teas made from the plant, were used to treat diarrhea, dysentery, intestinal worms, and bleeding mucous membranes. The roots were also recommended for relieving toothaches and headaches as well as healing poor gums.

• Cascara Segrada Bark: contains hydroxyanthracene glycosides and cascarosides A, B, C, and D
Early plant chemists have identified the active laxative constituents in cascara segrada bark as anthraquinone derivatives. These compounds stimulate peristalsis, the vigorous wavelike contractions of the large intestine that keep food moving through the digestive system. When cascara speeds the process up, the body produces a softer, quicker bowel movement because the intestine has had less chance to absorb the liquid from the stool. Several studies have shown that cascara segrada is effective in easing chronic constipation in elderly people. Great for keeping the colon clean.

• Cats Claw Bark:(Uncaria tomentosa) contains alkaloids, anti-oxidants, and anti-inflammatory
The most attention was given to the oxindole alkaloids found in the bark and roots of Cats Claw, which have been documented to stimulate the immune system. It is these seven different alkaloids that are credited with having a variety of different medicinal and healing properties. The most immunologically active alkaloid is believed to be Isopteropodin (Isomer A), which increases the immune response in the body and act as antioxidants to rid the body of free radicals. Compounds found in Cat's Claw may also work to kill viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms that cause disease, and they work to inhibit healthy cells from becoming cancerous.

It has been suggested that Cat's claw extracts exert a direct anti-proliferative activity on MCF7 (a breast cancer cell line). This has led to its use as a adjunctive treatment for cancer and AIDS as well as other diseases that negatively impact the immunological system. In addition, the presence of glycosides, proanthocyanidins and beta sitosterol help provide anti-viral and anti-inflammatory support for the body. These alkaloids also exert a beneficial effect on memory. Cat's claw is considered a remarkably potent inhibitor of TNF-alpha production.

• Sarsaparilla Root:( Smilax ornate) contains iron, flavonoids, bitters, saponins, anti-fungal
The studies that have been done on sarsaparilla as a medicinal herb suggest that the benefits come from antioxidant properties and plant sterols beneficial to human health. Sarsaparilla also contains flavonoids, a pigmentation chemical that gives many plants their leaf, stem, flower and even root color. In the past decade, flavonoids have garnered more widespread recognition for their use in treating autoimmune conditions and inflammation.

One of the most fascinating ingredients in sarsaparilla root are saponins, a chemical compound. Saponins, usually bitter to the taste, are named after soap because of the foam-like reaction they have when placed in water. In the plants where they originate, saponin chemical compounds help deter fungi and insects from eating their leaves. This could be one of the possible reasons that sarsaparilla has anti-fungal properties.

• Bitter Melon Vine: (Momordica charantia) contains plant sterols, glucosides, polypeptides
is a flowering vine in the family of Cucurbitaceae. It contains an array of
novel and biologically active phytochemicals including triterpenes, proteins and steroids. Medicinally, the plant has a long
history of use by the indigenous people as a folk medicine. Bitter gourd is often used in Chinese cooking for its bitter flavor,
typically in stir-fries, soups, and also as tea. Pakistan, Philippines, Panama and Nepal also use this bitter vegetable for culinary
purposes in addition to India. Several medicinal properties of the bitter gourd have been studied by various researchers, such as
anti-diabetic, anti-ulcerogenic, anti-mutagenic, antioxidant, anti-tumour, anti-lipolytic, analgesic, abortifacient, anti-viral,
hypoglycemic and immunomodulatory. In vitro studies reveals that the bitter gourd proteins (α-and β-monorcharin) have
inhibitory effect against HIV virus, and leaf extracts have broad-spectrum anti-microbial activity as well. Many in vivo studies
have demonstrated the relatively low toxicity of all parts of the bitter gourd plant when ingested orally. This review also
addresses taxonomy, phytochemical, culinary practices and pharmacological properties in detail. Over the years scientists have
verified many of the traditional uses of this bitter plant that continues to be an important natural remedy in herbal medicine
systems.

• Burdock Root: (Arctium lappa) contains inulin, anti-oxidants, prebiotics
Inulin is a dietary fiber with powerful prebiotic properties. It can also improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels, aid in weight loss, and reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
◾Mucilage is a water-soluble dietary fiber that has a significant bulking effect: it expands in size after coming into contact with water or any other liquid, turning into a gel-like substance with soothing properties.
◾Flavonoids (mainly quercetin) are natural antioxidants that can reduce inflammation and reduce cellular damage due to free radicals.
◾Saponins are believed to help control blood cholesterol levels and combat diabetes.
◾Lignans (mainly arctiin, arctigenin) are a class of polyphenols with scientifically-confirmed anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions
Thanks to its incredibly high content of dietary fibers, burdock root can help in losing weight and controlling blood cholesterol levels. Some other studies indicate that the inulin present in burdock root can help to reduce fat deposits in the liver and muscles. In general, this could help to reduce the risk of developing diabetes and all sorts of cardiovascular diseases including arterial plaque (atherosclerosis).

Gastro-protective and anti-ulcer effect: Chloroform extracts of burdock root significantly reduce gastric acid secretion, thus possibly improving symptoms of gastritis and help to heal peptic ulcers.

Lymph cleanser: Due to its diuretic and cleansing nature, burdock root is one of few herbs that can help stimulate lymphatic drainage

• Yellow Dock Root: contains iron, enzymes, anthraquinone glycosides
